Romário de Souza Faria, better known simply as Romário, is a former Brazilian football centre forward who helped the Brazil national team win the 1994 FIFA World Cup and later become an international icon of professional soccer,
accepted an invitation by Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) President Jeffrey Webb to visit the Cayman Islands to raise awareness and funds for the CIFA Centre for Excellence.

Romario had the opportunity to experience the famous Stingray City Sandbar accompanied by William Jones a Divers Down dive instructor, also from Brazil, to enjoy the stingrays and have a relaxing time.
'Scuba New York'
Ten student divers came down to Grand cayman from New York to complete their Open Water diver training with Cayman Diving College / Divers Down. The group was made up of 3 families with ages ranging from 12 to 50. The guys had a fantastic experience and all gained their full certification. The Group continued their " Cayman experience " with visits to Stingray City and various dive trips that we have on offer here at Divers Down. The guys are pictured above with their instructors Rob Hedges and Emily Petley-Jones.

The Cayman Islands Cadet Corps is currently hosting an exchange visit for cadets
from the United Kingdom, Australia, the USA and Canada. Part of the activities
arranged for the group is a PADI Open Water course conducted by Divers Down at
their Treasure Island Resort facility. The cadets pictured here, flanked by instructors
William Jones Jr (left) and Robert Hedges (right), while completing their first confined
water training session, were clearly all enjoying themselves.
